Hunting, fishing, & camping with FAMILY!
What is really important....
In my life there are three major components; God, family, & country. In that order, its seems to me that if you take care of the first two in that order things will always work out for the best.
Life is full of surprises, I really love the saying: "if the world is handing you lemons then you just need to squeeze them and make some lemonade". People always go on about how hard life is, or how they were dealt such a horrible hand. Life is what we make of it, and no one is going to hold your hand the whole way threw to make things better. We have to work for what we want.
Today everyone wants the biggest trucks, homes or boats, to have the newest equipment, or best gun. In reality none of these things make us better people. Life is about the relationships we make. There are some truly amazing people out there and we want to know them.
Don't get me wrong I love big trucks just like the next guy, but does it really matter what we drive or what we have?
Why is it important to pass down our passions to our children?
Kids are so funny; they soak in everything we do as adults. Their brains are always developing and learning new things. I envy them in many ways because they are at the beginning. I am greatful knowledge, but there are also some things I just don’t want to know, or wish I hadn't known.
As kids grow, their minds start to shape into what kind of adult they are going to be. The outdoors and hunting were two huge parts to my childhood. I grew up knowing that the fall part of the year was hunting season. My parents would pull us kids out of school for family hunting trips. The memories made on those trips will be cherished for the rest of my life. It was a time when you could relax and really take in the beautiful world that God has created for us.
I don’t know if my kids will love hunting, I won’t force them too either. If they like it then I will be there to show them how it is done every step of the way. I want to help create memories for them like my parents did for me.
Cherish your kids, you only get to raise them once....
Hunting and camping with the family brings more people together every year. My idea of vacation includes a campfire under the stars with some deep dark trees all around. Some people go their whole lives without doing something like that, and frankly I just don't understand it. Maybe it is the way they grew up, or maybe they just have no idea that it's out there or what they are missing. One thing is for certain being with family and friends during a camping trip draws everyone closer together. Creating memories is how I want to live, and I feel like I can do that through being in the good ol outdoors.
